Welcome to CPCSSN

Canada’s first multi-disease electronic medical record surveillance system.

The Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN) engages with clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to better understand primary care efficiencies and gaps to improve health care for Canadians. CPCSSN brings together fourteen primary care research networks under a common governance structure for the purposes of research, disease surveillance and quality improvement.

CPCSSN’S mission is to improve primary healthcare delivery outcomes across the country, while also facilitating innovation and excellence in primary healthcare research.

Research

CPCSSN securely collects de-identified health information from Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Researchers approved by CPCSSN can request fully anonymized data sets from CPCSSN with which to conduct research.

Disease Surveillance

CPCSSN engages in the surveillance of many chronic, acute and neurological conditions. By joining CPCSSN you will become a part of a community of clinicians committed to understanding communicable and chronic disease management and improving patient outcomes.
